MVNO Ting for September delivery of Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC EVO 4G LTE and Motorola Photon Q 4G coming soon:
New kid on the block Ting will soon earn itself major kudos in the U.S. carrier market when it delivers what could be the best Android smartphone so far – the Samsung Galaxy S3 – to its customers. Early September is the timeframe (stated in a post on Ting’s official blog) for Ting to start shipping the Galaxy S3 in all its variants to pre-order customers. And if all goes well that shipping date could be bumped forward.
Ting offers an impressive list of high-performance Android smartphones in addition to the Samsung Galaxy S3, for example soon to come are the HTC EVO 4G LTE, Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE, and LG Viper.
Mid-September will see the availability of the EVO 4G LTE at $520. You can pre-order the slider Photon Q even sooner – possibly next week – with a price tag of $500. And for “a little less than $400” you can get that oldie-but-goody, the LG Viper, available in October.
If these smartphones are little pricy for your budget, check out the Kyocera Rise. This is Ting’s best lower price range offering. For $200 or thereabouts you get this slider phone with a 3.5-inch display, powered by a 1GHz processor.
It hasn’t been all plain sailing for Ting though. Despite their best efforts to bring the pure Google Galaxy Nexus phone to MVNO side, it seems as though – for now at least – it’s just not compatible to run on Ting.
If Ting’s offering looks suspiciously similar to that on Sprint, it’s no wonder – Ting uses the Sprint network. And before you ask, yes, the same 4G LTE coverage should be available very soon.
