Nokia, well up to expectations...with Nokia Lumia 920 and 820!
Nokia once again shook the world like it did way back in 2006, with Nokia N 95, something that stood out of the crowd. This is it, Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820, announced today at 10 AM EST/7:30 PM IST in a press conference held in New York. After watching the live feed, we fully agree with Nokia saying "Switch to Lumia" and will iterate it.
Its a revolutionary product, and can easily kick off maximum lying over there already. As confirmed by Nokia, juicy features of Lumia 920 include, 4.5" (1290x768p) PureMotion HD+ screen, 8.7 Mega Pixels PureView camera capable of doing FHD (1920x1080p) recording, 2000 mAh battery, Snap Dragon S4 1.5 Ghz dual core processor, memory (internal 1000 MB, Mass 32 GB, Skydrive 7GB), wireless charging, full blown IE10 and an all new Windows 8 OS. While Lumia 820 is almost similar to 920 with some minuses.

So Nokia really worked hard with its new offering day and night to provide such a beautiful device, not juts look wise, but feature wise too. Going into details of press conference, the device has a display with some new PureMotion HD+ technology which will ensure smooth on screen operations on HD screen like blur free scrolling, smooth videos viewing, ultra clear and sharp textual matter. It uses Polarization filters to wash out sunlight, to have hassle free viewing during intense sunlight. And further more this capacitive screen works with gloves too. That means best viewing and handling experience for any smartphone.
"You will never want to put it down"- Jo Harlow, Nokia

Then comes City Lens, the augmented reality application, that points out everything from restaurants, cafes etc. Its fully integrated with Nokia Maps. While mentioning about 2000 mAh battery, Jo Harlow said "Its biggest of the time for Nokia" and "Get the most important out of the day". This clearly speaks of battery capabilities. To add up to battery we have, Snapdragon S4 processor which is claimed to be 30% more efficient.
Icing on the cake is support for wireless charging via Wireless charging pad or Fatboy Pillow and other offerings but downside is none of them comes prebundled. So you need to purchase one to enjoy. For user convenience, Nokia partnered with various entities to bring out easy charging on the go, so while enjoying coffee at Coffee bean and Tea Leaf your Lumia charges itself while on desk, while you are waiting on Virginia airport, it automatically charges itself for wireless charging couches are there etc.

With this Ja Harlow left and Joe Bilfore came on stage to demonstrate the capabilities of WP 8 platform, to deliver most personal experiences with WP 8. Home screen contains live tiles, there may be people on tiles with their live updates since there is full social integration with contacts, any live app like news channel CNN ported an application for WP 8 to be on tile etc. Joe demonstrated how easy it is for us to remain connected with the closest ones, with "one thumb touch". Wp 8 features backward compatibility with WP 7 apps and reasonably scales low resolution apps to be on tiles. Tiles can be resized to accomodate many in a row, or can be extra large to cover the width of phone, which ever way you like it to be, or need it. Then he demonstrated of the all new Desktop like browsing experience with HTML5 based IE 10, which scales websites accordingly to be on 4.5" HD screen. As said earlier there is quite tight integration of social network, SkyDrive too is there. For eg if we post a pic via twitter, it asks for SkyDrive storage and we are good to go.

Talking about camera, Best technology has to offer is Nokia's PureView technology backed up with well researched hardware. Using Carl Zeiss optics, the whole camera module is spring suspended to avoid any shakes and vibrations spoiling images and videos. This one is named "Object Image Stabilization". It was live demonstrated, how well it works in case of video recording for it deliberately need this kind of stabilization. To say results were outstanding, with no signs of shaky movement, when it was directly compared side by side with a device without this kind of hardware support, where it was all shaky. (both video were shot side by side while walking, with devices fixed on support). This stabilization also results in outstanding still shots as it checks for any movements to give us perfectly lit pictures from main subject to background. Then there is "Smart Image" to remove unwanted suspects spoiling image and restoring background and another one "CinemaGraph" to add actual emotions to pictures, like waving flag, real time video-graphic moments.
Talking about Lumia 820, they said "its almost similar to Lumia 920 with 4.3" display and a interchangeable back cover that you never need to cover".
